3 T-Shirt Trends We’re Thankful For This Year

As thanksgiving approaches, it’s time to reflect on what we are thankful for this year. Number one, let’s all give thanks for being on this very earth today. Let’s give thanks for the existence of the t-shirt. Can you imagine a week without wearing one? And a huge thank you to all the on-demand print shops that require no minimums and make it possible for indie labels to create their own tees. Finally, let’s take a look at 3 t-shirt trends that brought smiles to our faces and put holes in our wallets.

1. Celebrity Charity T-Shirts

This year we noticed a high volume of celebrities creating t-shirts for charitable causes. Thanks to sites like Booster, TeeSpring and Represent creating and donating was made easy. Stars like Beyonce used her celebrity platform to raise awareness about the state of pediatric care in Haiti. All proceeds from her BeyGood t-shirt campaign went to the Saint Damien Hospital in Tabarre Haiti.

2. Innovative Tech T-Shirts

Design legends and newcomers created functional, high quality and innovative t-shirt products this year. The development of the fibers, to the multiple uses of the product was thoroughly considered. Ralph Lauren’s PoloTech is a high-end take on the workout t-shirt that every gym rat needs. Threadsmiths Cavalier Tee proved that it could resist water and dirt through its tried and true hydrophobic nanotechnology. These products go beyond the standard tee.

3. Meme T-Shirts

Meme T-shirts give everyone an opportunity to be a t-shirt designer. No matter how bad a meme t-shirt looks, it still works because anyone that’s up on pop culture gets the joke. The Meek vs Drake Beef and Kanye for President memes were among the top this year. Drake and Meek Mills beef quickly turned comical when Drake performed at the OVO Fest wearing a “Free Meek Mill” t-shirt. Within the next day, fans and t-shirt vendors created their own tees to join in on the fun.

These t-shirt trends are just too good to imagine a world without them. I wonder what 2016 has in store.

GOD FIRST BRO!

A While back when we revamped most of our social media accounts we were really happy and excited to have this as one of our first post so its only right that it be the first  post in our blog this young woman is very courageous and we were just so ecstatic we got to make some cool shirts for a great cause. #CRISTINASTRONG #GODFIRSTBRO  This is her story…

Cristina M. Gomez was a Senior and Peer Advisor at Florida International University, where she was also a sorority sister of Alpha Xi Delta.  Additionally, she was the Site Leader for “FIU Alternative Breaks” – a non-profit organization. Her calling was to teach because Cristina believed that “teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions”.  God was the focus of her life and as such Cristina was very involved in giving back to communities across the USA. Cristina volunteered her time at local homeless shelters, churches, His Angels Non-Profit Organization, and other charities.

Cristina enjoyed daily jogs and running marathons.  She was training to run the Miami Marathon’s 26.2k 2015 event. In her own words, Cristina said this about her passion for running:

“I’m 22 years old, and I’ve come a long way since I first set foot on the field to run over 11 years ago.  What motivates me?  Running is my sweet escape, I found that throughout the years it has become the best therapy, and not only that, it’s exercise. Whenever I’m stressed or have too much going on, I take a break and go for a run to be at peace with my thoughts.  Likewise, I wouldn’t say that I run to lose weight, I run because at the end I feel good!  There is no way to precisely explain it.  I feel accomplished, happy, and fulfilled.  If I don’t run at least 2 to 3 times a week, I feel unproductive. I’m not sure, there is something about conquering your mind and pushing your body beyond its limit that attracts me to this sport.”
