Regarding Advent Calendars, I tend to be quite a traditionalist. I have always cherished a Chocolate advent calendar in my home, even before my days as a parent. The joy of discovering a surprise each day in December leading up to Christmas is a beloved part of the festive customs that make the holiday season so enchanting.
Alternative Advent Calendar Suggestion
In the UK, I've discovered even more options than I had in Canada. They range from Cheese to Cereal. The variety of fantastic calendars nowadays is astounding; however, not all of them are suitable for children. It appears that every company is releasing an Advent calendar, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. Especially premium candies, chocolates, and sweets.
I've adored Jelly Belly for nearly twenty years – I elaborate more on this in my Video Review of their 2019 Advent Calendar.

All in all, I had a wonderful experience with this advent calendar, and opening it with Lydia was fantastic. It's one of the rare few that I would say is more enjoyable to open daily rather than all at once because there was so much candy that we're still working through it a week later. Each flavor (even the less preferred ones) met the high standards and quality you'd expect from Jelly Belly.
As stated in my video review, I truly appreciate that they thoughtfully included some Christmas-themed candies along with the classics (such as my personal favorite, Buttered Popcorn). Some of the top holiday-themed flavors in the calendar are also available in a separate American Holiday Favorites package. We're running a giveaway for a package of the American Holiday Favorites on our video review on YouTube, so head on over to discover more!
If you're seeking a sweet alternative to Chocolate this year, I highly recommend the Jelly Belly Advent Calendar (UK: buy it on Amazon for £13.99) or if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, why not try out the BeanBoozled Advent Calendar (UK on Amazon £16.99).
